Being just a small part of the legendary Saints organisation is an absolute dream, and we are so honoured to be able to represent the Team, Hell Pizza and Rutherford and Bond Toyota as the Hell Belle Dancers. This having been season three, we already can’t wait to be back on the court in front of the best fans in the league for the 2024 season.

We have been blown away with the support from fans, and really take the role seriously in terms of being able to be role models for our Tamariki, whilst bringing powerful, exciting performances to each and every game. Over the season we perform a total of around 60 dances, so that each and every game is non stop entertaining.

2023 also saw the launch of the ‘Boogie with the Belles’ program which sits nicely with the work the Saints do with ‘Saints’ in schools’ – we have to date been out to run 22 hour long FREE dance workshops for Tamariki at schools throughout the wider Wellington Region, and have more in store for term three. We teach simplified versions of our routines, and cover how the arts help with self expression, mental health, and talk about options that may be open to young people wanting to pursue a career in this industry.

We have a beautiful performing arts scene here in NZ, but there was always a massive gap in terms of curating work for professional dancers locally. What the public doesn’t often know – is that our most talented professionals often need to head away overseas to work. Being in the capital, and the capital of the arts, Society entertainment was set up to begin to mitigate this.

We believe that the arts have a place at every type of event, and we want to inject the arts into the everyday events, festivals, community events, and sports events. Adding that extra layer of professionalism and punch to games specifically, gives everyone in the audience someone to look up to, and something to aspire to. It hits all demographics, and it makes sure that those experiences are entertaining from start to end.

Our current team of 24 professional dancers are between 18-29 years old. Almost all of them have studied, or are studying full time commercial or contemporary dance. Many are dancers who have already been overseas and worked for Disney, Resorts in Greece and Turkey, With various Circus companies, and on contracts in India for Bollywood films / music videos and more. Because we are not yet in a place to offer anyone work full time, most of the team who are not still in study are working young professionals. We have a School Teacher, Lawyer, Signwriter, Designer, Autism nz advocate, University Researcher, etc. Many teach dance too. When we are in events mode, we rehearse/train for a minimum of 6 hours a week.
