Firewood Scammer on the loose

Imagine, it’s the heart of winter you’re surviving off a wood burner and you’re slowly running out of wood. The last thing on your mind is that your about to pay for a load of fresh dry wood that will never come. Well unfortunately this is in fact the exact situation for many people buying wood off Facebook Marketplace this winter. Wellington Police have just released a post alerting the community of these activities.
A member of our community has reported to both us and the police that one of the scammers is now going by the name of Ross Farr on facebook. They swindled a family member and attempted to scam them again when pretending to be a new customer.
They ask for a bank transfer before meeting, for those wise enough to want to pay in cash he will set up a time and never appear.
Should you have been affected by this please contact the police immediately. For everyone else, please make sure you receive your wood before giving payment.
