Meanwhile, at Whakapapa ski field, general manager of operations Steve Manunui reported nearly 5000 visitors on the first day alone. He emphasized the auspicious signs for the upcoming season, citing favorable weather patterns and meticulous preparation as key factors contributing to the promising start.
“We’ve had some good weather patterns over the last four weeks. We monitor those closely because that’s how we make decisions in and around our snow making,” Manunui explained. He also underscored the crucial role of solid infrastructure and support in ensuring a successful season.
Reflecting on the broader context, Manunui noted the positive outlook carried over from a productive summer and strong support from stakeholders. This robust preparation has positioned both Whakapapa and Tūroa ski fields for a season filled with excitement and optimism.
Looking ahead, Manunui expressed confidence in maintaining the momentum and delivering an exceptional winter experience for visitors. The commitment to refining operational processes and leveraging favorable conditions underscores a proactive approach to maximizing enjoyment and safety on the slopes.
