Mark has real motivation to support hospitals in the Hutt region. His specific reasoning for why he wants to help people with his wealth is his experiences within a home for the intellectually handicapped. It showed him just how much people who don’t have a fully functioning body need help, especially when it comes to health care. As of late Dunajtschik has donated 100 million dollars to the Wellington Children’s Hospital, which Dunajtschik kick-started with a 50 million dollar donation. His focus in 2023 will be on strengthening his landmark Asteron Centre in Wellington, which the Wellington City Council has declared as an earthquake risk.
