“We’ve got the perfect conditions here,” said horticulture consultant Ben Matthews, who’s leading several Levin growers into the project. “The Kapiti Coast’s balance of sunshine, soil, and sea breeze gives Eterna the exact environment it needs to thrive. This isn’t just farming; it’s the start of a regional transformation.”

Farmers Betting Big on Blueberries

Already, local farmers are ripping out old paddocks and planting blueberries instead. Moreover, demand for seedlings has skyrocketed, and word is spreading fast that Levin might just become New Zealand’s next export powerhouse.

Levin grower Sarah Jenkins said she’s all in. “I’ve planted five hectares already. It’s exciting; we’re part of something that could change the region. Everyone’s talking about it, and for once, it’s not about property prices or politics; it’s blueberries.”
