There were delays for traffic leaving Wellington this afternoon.

At 12.45, NZTA reported a crash on SH59 at Aotea which had blocked the left northbound lane prior to the Whitford Brown Avenue interchange.

“Please pass with extra care and expect delays.”

At 1.20 the lane was still blocked, and delays were continuing.

NZTA reported at 1.50 that the crash had been cleared and the lane was reopened. It said delays would continue till congestion had cleared.
