The Wellington live story.
ONE NETWORK WELLINGTON LIVE onwards & upwards.
Facts, stats and the next chapter.
After purchasing Wellington LIVE owner Graham Bloxham went to the parliment Protest and changed the Wellington LIVE page to mainstream in minutes, Wellington live was immediately a large national player.
Bloxham purchased Wellington live for reach as he says he was too tight to pay for Facebook, so he purchased his own reach for a tourism initiative.
With the new reach and power Bloxham faced envy, bullying, highly targeted personal abuse, trolling and censorship.
Not obe to ever retreat.
As soon as Bloxham was done with local content creators, he off shored development and Socials he found the cost of engagement dropped by 90%, and the reach and engagement improved by a multitude.
With one data expert showing Bloxham a “data map of all his and the sites bullies”, abusers, trollers and if they were abusing us at work. With one person actually abusing us and other businesses whilst working at Treasury – a govt department.
That gave Bloxham such a huge relief, knowing the capabilities of digital bullies.
Previously if you appeared in the paper you couldn’t understand who saw it. It was the papers way and knowing the reach abd capacity of a bully helped Bloxham make decisions with his head and not his heart. It was a game changer.
In the period since then Mainstream media and many sites have continued to pile on the abuse and often reporting blatent lies, and interviewing many others with a pre determined outcomes in mind – leading audiences to see Bloxham in a whole new way.
Gay, Useless at content, creepy, dodgey, a liar, untrustworthy, a dangerous man, dishonest, unethical, ruthless, taking photos of children at beaches, a violent man, drug addict, with Sean Plunkett of the Platform calling Bloxham a meth addict live on the show – you name it Bloxham says he has suffered every kind of abuse possible.
Including a violent attack leading to a bleed behind his eye and two death threats.
Bloxham acknowledging his driving didn’t help.
At one point WCC Ceo Barbara McKerrow apologised as WCC staff were bullying, censoring and lying and taking the piss of Bloxham. Discovered by OIA, Bloxham was clueless why WCC would say one thing and do something completely different.
Bloxham says a WCC staff member told WCC management he had assaulted her at a pulse netball game, that WellingtonLIVE was actually supporting and sponsoring.
None of that happened!
And a senior comms staffer kicked Bloxham out of the Takina opening for being Social media, not real media, and the censorship, bullying and minipulating carried on.
With one business man advising Wellington live he could not engage in any WCC events, or he would have his funding pulled.
And on it went, and sadly continues with a senior comms person abusing Bloxham at the recent council inauguration.
With a previous WLG mayor changing his personal facebook site to Wellington Alive, stating to Bloxham that Wellington Alive didnt sould anything like Wellington Live, and trolling Bloxham, Wellington LIVE customers, copying our content, and generally trying to embarrass the oages. At times it gets very petty and tedious Bloxham reminds us.
Moving forward we made our own way, forging our own story telling, and now generate roughly 18x the volume of Stuff main stream media.
On our way to 100m engagements a month across 37 audiences, 6 platforms and with Ai socialpersonalisation pusing through the growth and opportunities abound. Bloxham showing data showing One Network Wellington live is growing like a weed.
Looking forward. As soon as Andrew Little announced he would run for Mayor, and knowing his campaign support system Bloxham said Little was absoloutely unbeatable.
With Bloxham saying “i shared that fact in my mayors speech the day before I pulled out”.
Safe in the knowledge Little had the connections, charisma and Black hat system, team and base, to take it out.
At that point Bloxham was running for Mayor and he says, i was using MSM stupidity, and coverage to get a seat at the local body elections table.
Astounding as it emerged Tom Hunt of the Post went on holiday for 4 weeks leading up to Oct 13th, the Herald didn’t cover any meetings which effectively handed the election coverage to OneNetwork-Wellington Live, allmost 100%.
The total election reach was in excess of 5 million engagements.
And at crucial times over 40% share of reach and audience.
With that coverage, the data and sentiment analysis across 37 audiences and 83m engagements a month, the data also reinforced Little would win in a landslide, and Chung was toast.
Fast forward 2028.
300k new tourists heading to Lyall bay annually, 20k new jobs and WLG is pumping.
Andrew Little is the key person in this matrix. He needs to be protected, supported and his goals achieved.
Wellington has a new vibe but it still suffers anxiety.
Bloxham saying Little has a stronger mandate than even Kerry Prendergast, and allmost total regional control of Upper & Lower Hutt and Porirua – when WLG city pumps the region thrives.
A key and important focus as WLG heads out of depression.
With 37% higher business liquidations in Wlg than any other city there are still significant headwinds.
If Little can establish a strong enough beach head with tourism at the core WLG will start to win again.
A clue in gaming.
With the gaming industry getting a 25% rebate, and with Social housing offering a further 25 % cost of living discount, subsidised by WLG rate payers, Bloxham struggles to understand why companies wouldnt move to Wellington.
With the film industry in reverse, Govt still shrinking – corporates staying out, and the cost of living still at crises point, nothing short of an unlikely Labour victory in 2026 will bring govt back to Wellington.
So its tourism, travel and new corporates that matter.
Can Mr Little, WCC and WLG NZ sharpen their focus and get targeted messaging out, and push out the clear and incredible 50 discount for owners to move to beautiful Wellington.
Will Cr Karl Tiefenbacher newly elected businessman, who has the WCC economic development reigns be able to drive this clear and critical focus, or will Wellington stay a public service town. baggy, lost, uncomplicated and a basket case.
Or Will Andrew Little who is a Unionist and now in charge of redundancies council be able to lay staff off, we doubt that!
So how do you get more productivity out of the current bunch who have had the last few years under the previous NightMAYOR administration.
With regards to Bloxham, and One Network Wellington live, with a low cost of content, and new audiences being added allmost daily, the team soldier on, grow and love love and love our vibrant bio diverse cultural melting pot that we call Wellington.
